Method

Uniting people through movement.

Uniting movement through physics.

Our Philosophy

Exercise Mechanics is an application of engineering and physics that guides our understanding, implementation, and delivery of exercise. - Tom Purvis

We use science, not trends. We understand how forces, levers and tissue interact in your body. This lets us solve problems other trainers and specialists miss.

We have studied and integrated Resistance Training Specialist® principles with Victorian era gymnastics, martial arts, kettle-bell lifting and club swinging. Not because they’re trendy. Because they work when applied correctly.

What you will learn

  • How your body actually functions, and why it is not functioning optimally

  • The physics behind movement patterns

  • How to negotiate and reprogram imbalances before they become injuries

  • Skills that transfer to real life and athleticism

  • An enhanced movement vocabulary

Progress takes time. We are not promising 6-week transformations. We are promising sustainable mastery over your own body.

If you want quick fixes and easy answers, we are not your gym. If you want to understand and control how you move, welcome home.

Evolution

ASSESS

Every body is different. We start with a comprehensive movement assessment to understand how YOUR joints function and where YOUR neuromuscular system needs work. If your movement is feeling tight or unstable, we identify dysfunction at the root cause—not just symptoms.

No cookie-cutter programs.

OPTIMIZE

We address the physics of how your tissues, joints, and nervous system work together—or don't. Using isometric strengthening and Active Range of Motion, we aim to stabilize your joints to improve your mobility.

CHALLENGE

Once your body is functioning properly, we progressively challenge you with:

  • Isometric Resistance

  • Isokinetic Resistance

  • Calisthenics

  • Resistance Tools (Kettle-Bells, Clubs, Stall-Bars, Medicine-Balls, Elastomers)

You'll earn every rep and you'll feel the difference.

TRANSFER

Gym strength means nothing if you can't use it. We teach you to apply your capabilities to real life—whether that's walking, running, climbing, martial arts, or just moving through your day with ease and grace.
